Fall 2017 Résumé Workshop (Part 2 of 2)

  • USCB Computational Science Lab (162 Hargray) One University Blvd Bluffton, SC 29909 USA (map)

On Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 5:30pm (in HARG162, the CSCI computer lab), Dr. Canada and ACM will host a résumé peer review session in advance of the forthcoming S.E.T. Career Fair.

START PREPARING NOW! You'll need to bring at least FIVE PRINTED COPIES of your draft résumé and have it critiqued in breakout groups with Dr. Canada along with students who have gone through the interview and job placement process. Your résumé draft doesn't have to be perfect, but you should at least have listed your contact info, education, work experience, projects (whether completed or in progress), awards, honors, and skills. If your draft is over the one-page limit that's fine too -- we can help you identify where to make appropriate edits to help you get it down to one page.

NOTE: If you missed Part 1 of the Résumé Workshop and S.E.T. Fair Prep Session (which was held on 9/6/17), you can watch a recording here: The recording is 90 minutes long and goes into considerable detail on how to prepare your résumé (preferably from templates -- watch the video to find out where to download them!), how to write your job responsibilities to be appealing to recruiters in the tech industry, along with guidelines on how to dress and conduct yourself properly when attending the S.E.T. Career Fair.

This event is open to both ACM Members and Non-Members alike!
